Textile labeling policy.

This textile labeling policy describes Blue Orchard's standard for product pages, physical labels, care instructions, country-of-origin claims, and receiving checks for imported handmade textiles.

Product record standard

Every covered textile item must have a product record that lists fiber content, country of origin, care instructions, SKU, batch, dimensions, weight where relevant, supplier or workshop source, and the US warehouse receiving status before it is made available for sale.

Country of origin

Product pages for textile goods should disclose whether the item is made in the US, imported, or both, and should not imply a US origin when the item is made abroad. Blue Orchard will use specific country-of-origin language such as Imported from China when the finished product was made in China and later stocked in the US warehouse.

Fiber content

Fiber content should be stated using generic fiber names and reasonable percentages supplied by the maker, supplier, or import documentation. Marketing words such as natural, cotton, silk, wool, cashmere, organic, recycled, handmade, or plant-dyed must match the actual material evidence kept with the batch.

Care instructions

Care guidance must be reliable for the useful life of the item. Natural indigo items should include clear washing, drying, color-transfer, and first-wash guidance on the product page and, where required, on the physical item or packaging.

Receiving check

Before a batch is released for sale, Blue Orchard checks that the product label or packaging is readable, attached or packaged appropriately for the product type, and consistent with the product page. Items with missing or inconsistent label evidence stay unavailable until corrected.

Claims control

Labels, hang tags, product pages, invoices, and marketing copy must stay consistent. If a claim appears in one channel, the batch record should support it. Origin, fiber, care, and handmade-process claims should not be exaggerated beyond the available documentation.

Record keeping

Blue Orchard keeps supplier confirmations, import documents, product photos, receiving photos, product-page screenshots, and label evidence with the batch record so support, returns, and future restocks can be checked against the same source of truth.
